Warriewood STP Odour Management Project –

Design and Construct Odour Control Facility –

Warriewood Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is located in a valley close to a main arterial road (Pittwater Rd) at Warriewood. The STP produces a high quality effluent treated to “secondary” standard using a conventional biological (activated sludge) process. The effluent is disinfected using UV radiation and discharged by gravity through a cliff face ocean outfall. The plant was constructed in the 1970s and has been subject to various minor upgrades over the subsequent years. The STP has a history of odour complaints.

The aim of this project was to design and construct new odour mitigation works and improve the operation of the existing works such that surrounding developments would not be adversely impacted by odours from Warriewood STP. The Odour Management Project comprised plant wide collection and treatment of odorous discharges, including design, fabrication, delivery, installation and testing.

Complete Project Responsibility
